Burial Options
Full Interment:
Side by Side Graves are graves designed to accommodate one full interment per grave.
Companion Graves (aka: Double Depth) This type of grave allows two full interments in one grave.
Cremation: A family has three options when considering a cremation interment:
Selection of a Side by Side grave will allow the purchase of an upright monument
An In-Ground Cremation grave only permits the use of a grass (flush) marker.
Kings Highway Cemetery offers a niche wall. Each niche will accommodate two standard size urns.
Monuments Markers & Inscriptions
Monuments and Markers are available for purchase. A date and time can be conveniently scheduled for you to select an appropriate memorial for your loved one. Most areas permit an upright memorial with the exception of the veterans circle, infant and cremains area of which a grass (flush)marker is permitted.
Inscriptions
Please call the office to make an appointment. We could also mail you a brochure which shows many different examples of styles, colors and sizes.
The cost of a memorial will be determined by the size, color, inscriptions and any requested designs.
Power washing and specialized cleaning is another service we offer. Over the years monuments and markers occasionally have a moss or lichen growing on the surface which in most cases can be removed and the monument or marker will tend to look "new" again.
In-ground vase - a cemetery permitted vase is available that will hold water to prolong the beauty of the flowers. When purchased we will install the vase for your convenience.
The Columbarium Niche Wall
Was dedicated on Wednesday September 30, 2009. It is a 144 ft granite wall containing 400 Niches, each niche is 12 inches in height by 12 inches wide by 20 inches deep. On the western side of the wall lies a red brick paved circular committal area, which may be used for services during inclement weather.
Niches, which are under the complete control of the Milford Cemetery Association are sold for use as a repository for the remains after cremation, of two deceased persons. Purchase price includes the first inurnment, but there is a charge for the second. Lettering, approved by the Association, may be inscribed on the granite slab covering the niche.
To insure uniformity, only names, dates and military inscriptions, with no additional language or designs, will be permitted.
Veterans
Kings Highway Cemetery proudly respects those men and women who have served this country. We have a dedicated area for qualified veterans in our veterans circle located in the center of the cemetery adorned with a large illuminated flag pole.
Special Note: Each grave has the possibility of allowing four interments. This means that a side by side grave will permit one full interment and three cremains or just four cremains. A companion grave will permit two full interments and two cremains, or one full interment and three cremains or just four cremains. A cremation grave will permit four cremains (depending on size of urns). When a grave is purchased the owner is purchasing burial rights and not the actual property. The grave purchase includes the right to use the grave for interment for the first two burials. In order to inter the third or fourth burial, one must purchase additional burial rights.
